Kitsu’s Sunday Raceday

I really didn’t see much for exciting stuff concerning racing this week…

Really there’s just been THIS talking about the handicapping for Breeder’s Cup, which puts my girl (Havre de Grace) heading out at 3-1. But since none of the big contenders were on the track this week, it’s hosting been what’s up at Newmarket and the like, which are race zones I don’t pay a ton of attention to right now.

There’s also ANOTHER interesting article talking about the future of racing and how to deal with the dwindling numbers. I will say this: Without the sunday telecasts that happened on and off as a Kid, I’d have never watched the Triple Crown attempt by Silver Charm and been impressed enough to pay heed for the rest of my life. It’s not just watching racing that makes race fans, it’s connecting to that hero horse who draws you into their wake and makes you want to keep watching.

Since I have a ton of Horseracing News I never talk about in favor of “real” news.

  • Beldame: Havre de Grace Destroys Royal Delta 1 October 2011: Havre de Grace, my favorite little filly, schooled the boys recently in the Woodward Stakes in September, has done it again in the Beldame Invitational. This means she’s got an automatic spot in the Breeder’s Cup Classic if she wants it! and her trainers seem as game as she does.
  • Tiznow Season to BC Classic-Winning Female 27 September 2011: In previous years we have Zenyatta. This year we have both Havre de Grace and Blind Luck. And Havre’s pedigree is a good pair to Tiznows. Best part: She’ll have to school one of Tiznow’s famous sons (Tizway) to earn the prize
I wish I had time to write a little more, but I don’t, so I won’t.
